#WW19: MORMONS, CHOCOLATE AND PENCIL SHAVINGS. What does it all mean?

If you read Monday's post, you know that this is the SECOND draft of this post. ACK!
So I am gonna get right to it!
5 things I love right now!!!!!!!!

1.) Book of Mormon. The Musical.

You know I love a good musical, but this one was one of the very best!!! I cannot say enough about it! I just can't! Here is what Wikipedia says:

The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical with a book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone.^[1] Best known for creating the animated comedy South Park, Parker and Stone co-created the music with Lopez, who co-wrote and co-composed Avenue Q. The show lampoons organized religion and traditional musical theatre, reflecting the creators' lifelong fascination with Mormonism and musicals.^[2]

The Book of Mormon tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in northern Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naive and optimistic, the two missionaries try to share their scriptures—which only one of them knows very well—but have trouble connecting with the locals, who are worried about famine, poverty, andAIDS.^[3]

After nearly seven years of development, the show premiered on Broadway in March 2011. The Book of Mormon has garnered positive critical response and numerous theatre awards, including nine Tony Awards. An original Broadway cast recording was released in May 2011 and became the highest-charting Broadway cast album in over four decades.

2.) Captain America. FUN. I love the 1940's look of the movie. A good popcorn flick!

Yes, he is hot - even in clothes!

3.) Max Brenner. Brunch in NYC is NOT COMPLETE without a trip to Max. I loved my pancakes. here are some photos:

4.) Kyle Bean. Is a super talented youngster from England.  Here is a snippet from his bio:
"I am a Brighton based designer specialising in hand crafted models, set design and art direction. Since graduating in 2009, I have worked across a variety of platforms including installations, window displays, editorial and advertising. I am represented by Blinkart."

I love these. Mr. Bean (no, not THAT Mr. Bean) used the shavings from different coloured pencils to create a series of unique portraits for the 'contributors' page of the 2011 handmade issue of Wallpaper* design magazine. ?

I love this other work of his too!!

5.) If you love retro, like I love retro. Check out "Freshvintage:" One word - FAB! Ok...so she is funny too.....but the stuff is LOVELY!!! Here is her clever little bio:

Sometimes I keep the things I find, and sometimes I sell them. My personal collections are quirky, pretty and occasionally a bit mind-numbing. I love vintage globes, white matte pottery,anything green, letters & numbers, apple crate labels, sex education books from the early 20th century, and crocheted genital warmers. That's totally normal, right?

I was born in Philly, raised in Southern New Jersey and married a nice boy named Chris from Washington state. We live in Avondale, PA (Mushroom Capital of the World) with our two kids, Finn & Maeve. Chris puts up with my obsessive yard-saling and rarely complains that our cars will never see the inside of our two-car garage. In fact, he loves me sooo very much that he recently became an almost-full-time picker for freshvintage. He is a chip off the old block, since both of his parents are antique dealers in Yakima, WA.

In 2001, I began selling antiques when my sisters and I realized that our obsession with yard sales and auctions was taking over our garages, basements and spare bedrooms. Today, you can find my finds (and my sister, Erin's) in a little corner of a room on the second floor of Brandywine View Antiques in Chadds Ford, PA.

I occasionally sell my finds on eBay and at a few Philadelphia-area antique markets. And, when my neighbors are annoyed with all of the crap on my front porch, they buy stuff from me in a weak attempt to clean up the neighborhood.
